Trip in East Coast
Time goes really fast and two weeks seems like two days ago .I can still remember the very first day when I got off the plane and saw big Mike and Pete greeted us with a warm welcome .
However, now we are hundreds of miles away from Columbus .We have been to Washington D. C. , Philadelphia and now we are in New Jersey. In Washington D .C . We saw the Washington Monument and many other memorials as well as museums. The monument is really tall and I wonder how much effort it took to build it. Whereas, what touches me most is the Korea memorial. Before the visit,I almost knew nothing about the Korea war, what I knew is that China won the fight. But not until yesterday did I know that the soldiers suffered much more than we could imagine. They were fighting in the front without knowing the real goal of the war. The nineteen sculptures were all wearing aimless faces, fighting for the uncertain future. Maybe the Chinese government and American government had two different opinions about this war,but to soldiers, war means death and killing, war means pain and sorrow.
We all hope to live in a peaceful world without fightings. We are all looking foreword to a world without wars. We hope the world to be international as well as multicultural. Though little conflicts are unavoidable, great efforts should be made to remain the peaceful world.

War Memorials
This was the second day we are here in the Washington D.C. In the afternoon we
visited three war memorials, Korean War, Vietnam War and World War II. It was an
educational experience.

educational experience.
The Korean War Memorial, statues of 19 soldiers scattered on the ground. Each of
them is so vivid that you can see their faces, motions, gestures clearly. We know that
more than 52,000 soldiers of USA gave their lives to the war, but the artist only used
a squad of 19 statues to demonstrate the war. Maybe the artist wants to tell people
how these solders sacrificed their own lives to defend a country they even don’t
know. Peace comes with every single one’s sacrifice. China and America supported
different side in the war, while every single soldier is the same no matter which side
he is in.

However, as for the Vietnam War Memorial, thousands of names which belonged
to those who died in Vietnam on the wall represent a large scale of the war, applying
a solemn memory to people through which we can imagine how cruel and sad the
war was. It reminds us the huge cost of lives in the war and we wish no war anymore
in this world.

World War II Memorial is another kind of memorial. The memorial is mostly in white
which means justice and genuine. It feels like a sacred land to remember fight
between justice and evil which ultimately the justice won.

Motorcycle Museum Tour
Today, Mike took us to a motorcycle museum in Pickerington. I have been to many kinds of museums but I have never been to a motorcycle museum so it is totally a new experience to me.
There are many motorcycles in the museum. Motorcycles from the oldest to the newest are displayed with depictions and histories. It introduces the motorcycle's basic knowledge such as the engine and the glories it won. Many famous riders are introduced as well. What's more, there are some strange motorcycles and we can't figure out how they work. There is a long and slim motorcycle which I think will go under water.
I was inspired by a soldier called Dave Barr, whose legs were took by a land mine explosion during his military career. However, he managed to ride around the world. He has been to the Siberian Russia in the dead of winter and the four farthest points of Australia. I think what he has done is wonderful. His willpower and his optimism really encourage me to be more brave to difficulties in my life.

An American Wedding
We all attended a lot of wedding ceremonies when we in China, but never did I watch a foreign wedding ceremony before.
I had a picture in my mind what the ceremony would be like the point when I heard of it.In a quiet church, everybody wear a formal suit waiting for the bride approaching with her father. Then, her father stand aside. The bridegroom will hold the bride's hand and walking to the pastor. They will promise in front of all of us.
However, the wedding turned to be so different from my imagine. We've watched shows, shared delicious foods, learned dances and witnessed a grass wedding ceremony rather than in a church. But it also is of great fun.
I really love the friendly people here. When I was dancing, some strangers gave me a high five.
This trip told me what an American style life really liked.Maybe it's just a corner of iceberg.Maybe it's the reason why we still need to head for the east coast area.Tonight,we pack up all the things early and now I'm sitting to write this blog willing to find more about America.
Farewell to Ohio
The last two weeks are definitely unforgettable experiences to all of us. Starting from unfamiliar, unadapted, uncomfortable, but now, we all get along very well, established close relationships no matter between students or with our teachers.
These two weeks, we experienced a lot. We took classes, visited beautiful views, tried American foods, watched baseball game, and went shopping to the fullest. We learned and played. However, through all these facts, I think what we really learned is the way to talk fluently, to think creatively, and to try bravely. They are very helpful to any aspect of our lives. So I hope all of us have achieved something in Ohio, which may impress you for a long time.
I have to say, all the achievements we got here, were with the help of others. Here, I’d like to represent we students, to thank everyone we’ve met in OSU. Thanks for Pete, Eric, Susy, Brie, Cheryl and Dave gave us classes about American culture to let us break the stereotype and refresh the impression about US. Thanks for Irene, Aileen, Hans, Bob, Steve, and so many other people sorry I don’t know your names but I can remember your faces, thank you to accompany us everywhere and every time. It is you that let us feel less nervous to this new environment, and more confident to meet every activity. Finally, let’s give big applaud to our big Mike! You are always full of energy, taking care of everything and every single person in this group. We may not be so comfortable and safe here in America without your consideration. Thank you.
How time flies! We’ve already stayed at Ohio for two weeks and it’s time to leave and set foot on new journey. Welcome ever smiles, and farewell goes out sighing. Please do not feel sorrow or regret. Let’s treasure those sweet memories in our hearts and look forward the day to reunion.
Thanks again and best wishes for you!

BGM for farewell: The last Goodbye (by Bill Boyd)
Real hiking and . . .
Maybe it seems a little late to write something about the hiking I took days ago, however, I think after times of review I can express my feelings more objectively and clearly.
Facing with the SGO choices, I made up my mind without hesitate to sign up for hiking. I used to think that I'm good hiker because I started to travel with my parents before I attend ed to primary school so that I have gone to many places of interest in China and gone hiking there. Also, I love nature scenery very much, and I don't want to lose the chance to enjoy the nature beauty in America. To be honest, I had no idea of what we would see in hiking before the trip started.
And then the trip started. At beginning, what we did was just the same as what I had done when traveling before. We walked on the road, which was a little muddy because of the rain, and took photos. I walked with caution because the road was a little slippery while my shoes had heels( all shoes I took here have heels, so I could not choose a better pair orz).
We watched people jumping from a huge stone into the water, that was really interesting! Considering that we didn't have clothes to change, none of our group members had a try. I tried to take photo of people who did amazing diving, but the result doesn't live up to my expectation . . .
