I didn't actually go to museums a lot when I was in China, but when I heard of this air force museum,I just couldn't help jumping out of my bed, logged in the blogger, and signed up immediately, cause I really don't want to miss the chance to go see numbers of planes!
Honestly I don't know much about airplane, but I do admire the beautiful outlook of it,and I've never stopped dreaming about flying like a bird or an airplane in the sky to feel myself blowing in the wind. Also,as you might already know,I'm a huge fan of Japanese animation, and my favorite animation master,Miyazaki Hayao,he also has a crush on all kinds of aircraft,so we can see various kinds of aircrafts in his films.that might also account for my crush on it.

It took Peter more than an hour to drive us there,we all thank Peter very much, but I think all this is worthwhile, the museum didin't let us down. There is a big warehouse-like building,we stepped in,and a whole new world just opened up right in front of us.I can't tell the actual number of how many planes were in it,but with a rude estimation,it can't be under one hundred. Not only in number, they were also various in sizes and appearance, and most of them can date back to WWI&II.

Through some observation,I got two main points to consider, one is the open culture of America, and the other is the meaning of war.
It surprised me a little bit when I saw some planes with funny or cute graffitis on their body, which make them seem less unlike a killing machine.and I attribute it to the open-minded cultural enviroment of US,people tried to make jokes on serious things, which kind of shows their positive attitude to life and the world. On the contrary, we Chinese goverment are more willing to take all things severely,so do our people nowadays,it's kind of national culture,we can't say which is good or bad,but once being noticed of some good point in others,we should make a instropection on ourselves and try to learn from it,which'll absolutely do good to us.
Moreover,no matter how relaxing we act, facing with a war can never be an easy thing to deal with, both sides'll just hurt from it so we should see there's no justical reason for setting a war, rather than spending money on reinforcing arms fighting with other country,we should pay more attention to the hapiness of citizens, and we can never go wrong with that.

In the end I want to say, hope that we'll only use airplanes as our transportation,to connect people and connect people, make the air of freedom and peace go flowing in the wind to every corner!!❤
I would like to go there ~ Sonuds interesting.
ReplyDeleteSuch an insightful post Phoebe - I have not been to that museum before and with your post I will think about those two important points.
ReplyDeleteOne interesting thing I will add to this thought about how Americans view war...there's a chance that some of the soldiers might have been simply bored and decided to something on one of planes and it caught on. My brother was a soldier for 10 years and told me during his time in Iraq that most of the time is spent fighting boredom. We focus on the terrible parts when we are shooting at each other, but really boredom is a big enemy.
Nice picture!
